Online registration for Performing Arts

Students who wish to participate in a club of which they are not already a member, including the Spring Musical, must register online here, being sure to click the “Submit” button at the end.  It’s best if the parent completes this form.

If the club charges a participation fee (indicated on the registration form), pay it online right here .  Alternately, club fees can be paid by check made out to Tempe Preparatory Academy and left in Dr. Wolfe’s mailbox in the faculty house.  Leaving the check in the front office may delay processing.

Once the form and fee have been submitted, contact the director of the club to verify that the student is cleared to participate.  Students may not participate in an Academic Extracurricular Club until they have been cleared.

Mrs. Rey performs with Cantilena December 13

Our beloved director of Cantamus, Mrs. Rey, is scheduled to perform with Cantilena Chorale on Sunday, December 13, 4pm, at First Presbyterian Church in Mesa.  The program includes music of two of the greatest choral composers ever, Bach (his Magnificat) and Vivaldi (his Gloria).  Admission is a free-will offering.

While this concert will be suitable for review for students in TPA Music Classes, there are a few additional requirements, since it occurs after the deadline for submittal:

  1. The music teacher needs to receive an email from the parent requesting that the student use the concert for review.
  2. The student needs to attach the teacher’s reply to the concert review, verifying that permission was received to use the concert for review.

This concert is an ideal opportunity to any student who has been procrastinating writing a concert review.  And it promises to be a beautiful concert for all parents and students alike.

“New World” nets thousands for Performing Arts

Our fundraising Dinner Concert, “Music of the New World” netted thousands of dollars for TPA’s Extracurricular Performing Arts!  Thanks to the many parents and students who poured their hearts into the project, we saw a net income of $2,586.03.

Participation from all of our performing arts was better this year than any year in the past.  The TPA Foundation participated strongly, as well.

Mrs. Rines chaired our raffle, which contributed a total of $929 to the evening.

A special thanks goes to Mrs. Cheryl Smith for organizing and running the event.

Proceeds go to support our Performing Arts groups, including Cantamus High School Choir, Sinfonia Orchestra, Spring Musical, Bel Canto Junior High Choir, and Beginning Strings.  The generosity of our donors helps us keep our participation fees low so many students can participate.
