Students in 7th and 8th Grade music classes will want to consider reviewing a concert performed on Sunday. This one includes ballerinas!
Peter Wiley performs with his ballerina daughter, Dona. I am told it will be spectacular. Wiley is the cello professor at Curtis and was a member of the Beaux Arts Trio and the Guarneri Quartet. They will be joined by Nikki Chooi, 2013 winner of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition, and ballerina Claire Mazza, a soloist with the Connecticut Ballet.
The performance is on Sunday January 11th at 2:30 in the Tempe Center for the Arts Theater.
Students, their families, and all associates of Tempe Preparatory Academy are eligible to receive specially priced tickets for this event: $5 for all students, their families and all associates of Tempe Prep. Tickets can be purchased through online below using the code: Great Schools or by calling the box office on 480-350-2822. Plan to come 15 to 30 minutes before the program begins as this is open seating in the Theater. There is an option to print the tickets at home, which is a good idea.
Also, and this is very important, there will be cake for all after the performance! It will be an opportunity for students to meet the artists and visit with their friends. Impresario and cellist Catherine Hayden hopes “these young concert goers will find chamber music fun and want to support music all their lives.”
