The first piece is the Bottesini 2nd Concerto in B minor, Allegro Moderato.  The second is the Bach Prelude No. 1 (cello suite), which he played last year.  He was accompanied by his mother Mrs. Cathe Menefee.

Although he placed 3rd in the lower strings the day before, he took 6th when they put all 9 high scores together from senior division in every instrument group!  In the second competition, he was up against 3 pianos, another bass, a cello, flute, clarinet, and violin.

For his placement in this competition, Thomas won a full scholarship to Interlochen Arts Camp this summer to study with two outstanding bass teachers, one from Michigan State University and the other from Indiana University.

Congratulations, Thomas!
